The irritation of the seat is mainly due to the acidity of urine or stool, which will attack the skin. This acidity can be caused by digestive disorders associated with diarrhea, teething, colds, the taking of antibiotics … The layers may also weaken the skin, due to friction. Especially, the layers extend contact with acid products. They create a warm and humid which promotes maceration. The chemicals they contain are also singled out, as well as wipes, detergents and other toiletries. Obviously, the skin weakened by another disease ( eczema in particular) are most at risk. Finally, care of the seat too much or not enough supported can accentuate the phenomenon.
